Yorkshire Wildlife Rescue Sanctuaries

Yorkshire Wildlife Rescue Sanctuaries was founded by Marianne Crowley in 2003. Originally begun as; ‘Crystal Sanctuary Keighley Hedgehog Rescue’, it was not very long before we were taking in all types of animals and so changed our name to ‘Crystal Sanctuary Yorkshire Wildlife Rescue’.

Early this year we joined with other sanctuaries who, like ourselves, were struggling with finances. We now operate three establishments in Yorkshire; Keighley, Dewsbury, Shipley, and cater for a host of animals.

As well as releasing wildlife back into the wild we also keep many animals that are unsuitable for release or re-homing as permanent residents. We are now known as;
Yorkshire Wildlife Rescue Sanctuaries, and are fast becoming one of the best known names for wildlife care in Yorkshire.

There are many reasons for the decline in numbers of our wildlife. We are working hard to improve our environment for the benefit of all. That's why our motto is:
'Nurture your Nature!'
